This year Taste of the Teign is combined with the annual Harbour Festival that takes place on the Back Quay
The annual Blessing of the boats will take place at 1pm, if you have a boat please feel free to bring it along to be blessed for the forthcoming year at sea. This year in keeping with the foodie theme we will be having food available and still have space for a few food stalls hot or cold. Please contact Sue Dove for details email@example.com for a booking form.
We are also holding a competition for the children ‘Teignmouth Bakes Cakes.’ For the 5-10 year olds we have two classes and want to see the best decorated Cup Cakes, or the best tasting Cup Cakes. Please only bring a maximum of 4 Cup Cakes for each class. The decorated Cup Cakes can be baked by you or shop bought as we will only be judging the decoration you have created. For the 11-16 year olds we also have two classes and want to see the best decorated cake and also the most original flavour. We have some very experienced guests to judge the competition so get baking !! If you would like to take part please bring your cakes down to the back beach between 11am and 12.00 and hand to Sue who is one of the Rotarians. Cakes must be in a sealed container and clearly marked with your name and age.
Prize giving will take place at 1.45pm.
There is also a fancy dress competition for children at 11.45am, there will be two categories 0-5 years and 6-10 years, just turn up on the day with a parent.
We haven’t forgotten the adults, and have arranged with Seasports to host Kayak and Paddleboard races at 2pm.
There will be live music and the Grand Finale will be the annual Dog Show at 5pm. As this event is about fun but also to raise money for local charities there will be a number of stalls and collecting buckets on the day.
