Located at the heart of the village of Stokeinteignhead, this wonderful 13th century pub was built by the Church to offer food and rest to weary travellers and to sell the beer, wine and spirits made by the Church, a practice that previously would have happened in the church itself.
They have a reputation for serving great food made with the best local ingredients.
On Tuesday evenings they have a very well attended jam session with some excellent musicians, well worth checking out
Head Chef David Ward shares a passion for traditional food, but sometimes served with a twist, but always using local produce. During the period of Taste of the Teign you can enjoy local Teign mussels served traditionally as Moules Mariniere, and perhaps enjoy a cooling beer or glass of wine at the same time.
They can be very busy, especially on a Tuesday evening, so it is advisable to make a reservation by calling 01626 872475
